I'm doing my friends nails tonight who has long natural nails and wants an overlay of coloured acrylic. Iv done plenty off NNO's but never a full colour one. How do i go about it? Do I apply the colour acrylic then cap with clear? Or apply colour acrylic then file? Any help would be great thanks!! xx

Does she really want this or does she just think she wants this? Does she know that she will have to soak off if she wants to change the colour or that she will be bored of having the same colour in no time? What about a coloured gel instead that is easier to change? I would talk her out of it myself.

The answer to your question is that you can do either method. Make sure you overlap your beads so that you do not get lines of demarcation due to different mix ratios or apply coloured powder in one bead.

She used to always have her nails done and after having them on for a long time she decided to have them soaked off and started taking care or her natural nails. She wants a sparkly glitter that I have in my kit as she is going away for the weekend so it is just for a special occasion. I havent trained in gel yet so acrylic is my only option as she does not want a polish or minx. Thanks for your help Gigi!

id say if its a sparkly glitter one, its best to cap it all in clear so that when you file you dont risk spoiling the glitter. if a plain colour were used, it wouldnt matter either way.

If it is a glittery powder you are using then I would apply a thin layer of your colour powder and then a layer of clear building up your structure and apex with that.

That way you could possible do your colour in one bead, or at the most 2. As it is a glittery powder you have less chance of demarcation lines as long as you overlap when applying another bead onto what has already been applied and then fade it back.
