If you get a client who doesn't want any nail polish after a mani or pedi, how many of you don't charge the price you normally do for the full service?

I've had a couple of ladies lately for various reasons not wanting the colour & for one lady I offered to include some extra heel work for her pedi (sea serum & cucumber heel remedy which I usually charge a few pounds more for). She was pleased with that!

Now I 've got a lady booked in for a mani with no colour & am not sure what to do.

If you do reduce the price, by how much?

i personally would probably charge the same price as i would say that to include the paint/polish is normally complimentry. You probably dont use that much enamel anyway...its more the time factor....and you can use this time doing something else like buffing the nails to a gloss finish or do some extra massage or something.

i still charge the same , as i will usually buff the nails to a high shine :green: x

I have noticed that the salons in my area have one charge for manicure or pedicure and then they charge more for polish and then french polish is a bit more, ie they have 3 different prices

I acually charge less for no polish as I find polish quite time consuming, undercoat, two coats, then topcoat, takes time and costs money. I usually buff to a high sheen free as part of the service and usually buff before polishing too anyway!!

I charge a little bit extra for a french polish as I find it a little more time consuming that a normal 'one colour polish.' But I always include the 'one colour polish' in my manicure price, iykwim

I still charge the same, but offer a glosser or coat of nail hardner if required. I do charge £1 more for a french polish though.

I usually persuade them to have them buffed if they dont want polish. Only takes a few mins and least they r getting sumthing rather than nothing.
Why dont you set up a price on your price list for clients not wanting polish? This way, if they dont want it then you can book your next customer in sooner, if this makes sense? x

If they choose not to have polish on, i will buff to shine at the same price. For french it will cost a bit more.

i will charge for the same price too!

yep, ditto!
they will usually want something, be it clear or buffed.

I charge the same price. Most ladies will have a top coat if not colour so it's no different.

The colour is included in the price, but if they opt out there is no reduction.

Thanks everyone for your views. I did the lady today & she chose to be buffed.

I just charged the same as usual & it was all fine. I do feel this is fair & it took the same amount of time anyway & they looked great too!

I charge the normal price because I also shine up her natural nails and it takes more time then regular polish. the shine lasts up to a month with most my clients.
and polis or no polish is her personal choice. like when you go to dinner a meal comes with chips or potatoe if you say no chips they dont DISCOUNT your meal for you!
Same applied here, you are a proffessional who is giving a good service and money is deserved! you go girl

I always charge full price whether they have polish or not.
