in zone 3 (well chuffed) but I'm still getting lifting at the free edge. Mostly it's the thumb, index and middle fingers. Could be because these fingers are used most for tasks.

Can you give me any tips to prevent this?

Hi, little tips for you to help with the lifting from the free edge:
1. Ensure the free edge is primed and capped with each application
2. If doing NNO, I find it helps if I place a form on the finger and so a little sculptured free edge - I then know that the free edge is well and truly capped.
3. Don't forget the capping on the sides if the free edge as well
4. Don't go toooo thin - 0.5mm is great

Yes often on the dominant hand the middle, index and thumb do a lot of work and therefore receive more impacts - make sure that your enhancement is well balanced - apex half way between the cuticle line and the free edge line and tapered evenly to all edges - this then will allow an impact to be evenly distributed over the enhancement - unbalanced nails will chip and break at the weakest point upon impact.

HTH

Thanks Andrea

I think I'm not capping the free edge properly. When I started I was concentrating on preventing lifting in zone 3, then recently I've been concentrating on building an apex. Now I've got capping free edge to work on.
