hi guys i need your help i had nails applied by a student (at least i think she was) anyway after two weeks when i went to get them balanced the nails underneath were so soft and week i am now left with several fingers where the nail has been so badly damaged i have no free edge at all and am on the actual nail bed before a nail appears its sore and i am not a biter, what can i do ? i am massaging solar oil into my fingers but they look and feel terrible, should i get more enhancements or what they are actually unsitley:eek::irked: please help!! ps. the enhancements were lifting and some over the skin abut i never picked they were soaked of!

Hi hun, i am so sorry that you have had your nails damaged like this, imho i wouldn't have another set on until your nail grows a bit more as the nail bed is exposed, you should keep it clean and dry and as you are already doing use plenty of solar oil, someone else may well have a different opinion. I hope the pain starts to ease of a bit for you.
Take care, Jo.xxx

If you can get something like OPI Nail Envy to strengthen and feed the nail that would be a huge help. Other than that, keep the nails short and solar oil regularly.

Nail Envy can be purchased from QVCUK.COM, EBay or a salon selling OPI.

Keep positive!

why not put another set on applied by an experianced tech? It'll keep your nat ( now thinned nails ) protected untill the damage grows out, make sure you carry on with the solor oil x

That's what I was thinking...to protect your own nails.

Best of luck! :)

Yep i would cover them too ...perhaps a short nno or sculpts ..... I personally wouldnt tip them if they are that thin & sore.....

have them covered with a nice short sculpted set, but have them done by a experienced tech, check their certificate dates, (finding one on here is a good idea)
this will protect your natural nails while they grow and recover and you will feel better as they will look neat and tidy hth

Personally I would advise against buying any professional products from eBay because you simply don't know whether you're getting the real deal or not, and as for QVC, well lets support techs and purchase from salons!

Could not agree with you more! I highly recommend purchasing from reputable and reliable sources where you can receive reliable back-up in the event of problems. IMHO, Ebay is not one of them where professional nail products are concerned.

Oh dear, I say ask a geek to do a nice short nno (sculpted). Hope they feel better soon! x

thanks guys yep i think i will get them sculpted, cos they look horrible:irked: thanks for all your advice would normally by from cnd anyway, i will never let a student near me again:lol: i know we have all got to learn but i think i will ask what college they are at and where is the certificate in future:rolleyes: thanks all who have replied....seph

Don't shoot me for this but I am sure that I have read somewhere that prolonged use of OPI Nail Envy is detrimental to your nails(like using it everyday), please correct me if I am wrong.

Keep up with the solar oil and yes get an nno to help strengthen if your nails up to it.

I don't think there are any geeks out there in Dunoon but I do know a good tech....... Dawn in 'Pink Fizz' salon. Why not pop down and see if your nails would be OK to get an overlay or a very short set put on. I am sure she will also have a good cuticle oil for you to purchase and use.
HTH

Nail Envy should be applied every other day and as far as I know there is no reason why you can't use it long term. In fact OPI have recently launched a new Nail Envy Maintenance just for such use.
