Non-strip or strip wax for brow shaping???

Hello everyone!

I have a question about eyebrow waxing. I have worked as an aesthetician for about 2 years, and though I am trained to use non-strip wax, I have always used and preferred strip wax for eyebrows. It is a personal preference, but I feel as though I can shape more accurately with soft strip wax, it is easier to apply and remove, and I generally prefer eyebrow waxing with strip wax. I have had non-strip wax used on myself before, and I thought it felt more painful than strip wax.

I have been reading/hearing however that non-strip wax is more desirable to use for eyebrows, face, and especially intimate waxing because it is gentler, easier to use, more effective at hair removal, and less abrasive on the skin. I am wondering if I should switch over to using non-strip wax more often, or if it is okay to stick with strip waxing. :irked:

Of course its ok to use strip wax if you are proficient at it have no complaints etc.I use a clean and easy small roller to do eyebrows i put femfresh powder underneath(because its not talc based) and have no sticking, no soreness and great shaping.I feel i cant get the same close effect with non strip and dont like to use it.If you support the skin well and spread the wax thinly there is no pulling.
Good waxing is much more to do with technique and,knowing how to work well with the wax you use than the wax itself.I would carry on as you are for eyebrows.
Definately carry on with non strip use for other areas though as you will find many places now want therapists who can work well with non strip especially for intimate waxing its definately becoming a job requirement and many clients prefer it once they have had it.

I use strip waxing for eyebrows and most of my waxing.I have no complaints and I get exactly the same results as non strip.If you're happy ,your clients are happy and you are confident do as you want.If it aint broken why fix it?:green:

I use both strip and non-strip.

I prefer non-strip for intimate waxing and facial waxing but with the possible exception of eyebrows. (i.e. I like non-strip for the lip and chin.) Non-strip works well for some clients eyebrows but not all, in my opinion. I seem to instinctively know which to use.

I have never tried intimate waxing with strip wax. But I am constantly impressed with how calm clients skin looks after a non-strip intimate wax.

You really should give this a try Zoe as from trials we have been running on intimate female waxing were finding were getting far better results now and in far less time using our strip wax than using non strip.

Clients are definitely also reporting more comfort during and after as a result :hug:

well we all need to take new things on board

....give it a try with your ease it might just work(not tried it myself with the ease but you never know)....

you may just be surprised at how much easier,quicker and more comfortable it actually is:wink2:

I used to use strip wax when i first started waxing. I now use non-strip and the clients much prefer it. When i first got non-strip wax, i tested doing half a bikini with strip wax and half with non-strip and everyone said the non-strip was much better. Less redness and much more gentle on the skin.
No comparison in my opinion-you only have to see the skin after to see how much gentler it is. I can't say it takes any longer either. Whilst one strip is setting you just put another strip somewhere else. Doesn't take me any longer.
With regards to eyebrows, i do generally use non-strip but i do sometimes use strip wax depending on the client

I'm a non-strip boy, myself.

Far cooler, therfore less redness and more comfortable for my men. Plus for me it's more controllable - but then I've glossed a lot of window frames in my life :lol: :lol: :lol:

I definitely believe that non-strip wax is much better for intimate waxing, I just find that I cannot get the same precision with non-strip wax for eyebrows, that's why i prefer sticking with strip wax. I had my own bikini line done (hollywood style) with non-strip and it KILLED. Hurt way more than with strip wax for some reason...lol i think i'm the only person who has experienced that, most people say non-strip hurts much less.

I work for a dermatologist anyways now so I don't do much waxing for anyone anymore. I only ever did bikini waxing when I last worked at a spa, so unless i start getting home clients for inimate waxing, I think i am going to just stick with my strips for the few brow clients I have that come to my home.

I like strip wax for eyebrows, feel you have more control and can be more accurate because strip wax goes on thinner. However, if a client says they are really sensitive, I use non-strip after applying a tiny bit of jasmine oil.

However, I much prefer strip wax if I'm tinting, especially in tinting the skin. Using non-strip after tinting the skin doesn't allow you to shape as well because the tint will not come off with the non-strip wax, IYKWIM!

Non strip wax is a lot more gentle on the skin so is much better for delicate areas like lip and chin.
I have very sensitive skin on my face so my skin goes red on my lip even with non-strip wax. If i use strip wax though it is red and sore for 2 to 3 days! Not an attractive look-lol

I have tried things all around with the different waxes but the facial for me is a definite non - strip area, whilst intimate can depend on the client and wax you are using ie male intimate would be non strip but with the soft wax i am using we have done some trials and many female clients have confirmed that the creme wax is actually much quicker, more effective (ie even pulled 1 weeks growth) and a lot more comfortable, which did come a bit as a surprise bearing in mind the way we all learned that intimate areas automatically mean non - strip wax but hey, if its more comfortable for the client, gentler on the skin, more effective AND quicker for us as the therapists....... then why fight it?

But again that obviously also depends on the soft wax you are using because not all strip waxes are the same and can perform in this way :hug:

Intimate waxing with strip wax is not a new thing. Clients did have intimate waxing before new generation non-strip waxes came onto the market.

There are geeks who do it, for whom I have the utmost professional respect (Huberella, Katelisa, Babsann & possibly others.)

But what I do is quick, easy and comfortable too!

You just never know it may just be a new experience that does indeed impress and surprise you...it has already done so with one of your clients who acted as a model for us in our trials :wink2:

Not to worry Zoe...advice wasn't being given

I used to only eat and swear by white bread ...now I only eat brown...it wasn't until I tried brown bread that I was truly in a position as to decide on which one of the two options was best in my opinion.

In so far as the posted question is concerned there are those that swear by non strip and those that only use strip and each is entitled to do so:hug:

However until both have been tried individuals would not be in a suitably qualified position to pass comment as to which one is better....no matter how much experience they may have in the option they use.
