Hi All

I have recently done the Hollywood toes course with NSI (which was fab!) I went to the open day today to buy all my kit and a uv nail lamp.

I am so confused!! I bought everything I need apart from the lamp.

I have read the very informative guide on here but I still dont know what to do!!

I have seen a 'very cheap' lamp (brand new) its a 36w lamp that has 4 x 9watt bulbs and is 220v.

Can anyone advise me if you think this may be the kind of lamp I should buy?
However I am thinking - buy cheap, buy twice!

Thanks for your help

If you're using NSI gel you should be using the NSI lamp...... Saying that, I'm not an NSI geek so don't know if other lamps will cure it or not.

I don't think a 'very cheap' lamp is a good idea though.......

If you are using NSI balance gels then you will need a 9w uv lamp chick...I would buy from NSI, i got mine from them over 2 years ago and its still going strong, still on the first bulb and cures just fine (mind you i hardly use it and when i do its for glaze n go)

Stick with the company you trained with chick and you wont go far wrong

My opinion (not shared by everyone I know) is that a 36watt lamp is a 36 watt lamp. Most nail suppliers will tell you conveniently that you must buy the lamp that comes with their kit, I've heard lots of 'reasons' why this is the case but none of them make any sense to me with regards to UV output, wattage etc. From what I can gather, 36 watts gives the same UV output regardless of lamp. There has been some talk of the position of the reflective panels increasing the UV output a bit, but I dont imagine for a minute that makes a difference.:)

Hi i got my lamps from www.Nailorder.com £19.99 each.I have used then with IBD&NSI and had no problems, they are also wide enought to put your feet in,when doing Hollywood Toes.lol
