Hi guys

Had a client today who asked me to look at her nails. she had soaked her nails in accetone for 45mins and they would not shift! I had alook and tried soaking them for 15 mins and i couldnt get them to budge! the salon she got them done in has gone bust so cant ask what they used. I even tried filing quite a bit but that didnt seem to work. Is there anything I can use without having too file right down to the nail bed?

Are you sure its NSS, it could be a non soak off Gel...

They could have non soak off gel coating on them....

Did you try to file the top layer off & then soak?

she said they used liquid and powder. To be honest i tried filing quite far down and then soaking and still didnt budge.

could be gel.
did they go sticky at all after soaking ?

no they remained really solid?

sounds more like gel then.
even mma gets a bit goey on the surface if they are soaked in acetone.

so would i have to just buff them off? she said they didnt cure the nail in any way and dipped there brush in the liquid then the powder?

hmmm, then it does sound like liquid and powder.
looks like you will have to file whatever they are if they arent responding to acetone.

however i would be wary of taking them right off. if the nail beneath is damaged from rough prep then it would be better to thin them out and rebalance with a quality product. this way the old product can just grow off the nail and be replaced gradually. other wise a full removal may leave the client with very sore damged nails to cope with and it takes a good while for the damage to grow off.
