Just wondering how people got into the salon/spas/ or moblie industry in the same situation
or would be better to start moblie as i have a small demand for that.
But i would perfer to work in the salon/spa

I would suggest that you work within a salon to gain, hopefully, guided experience. Good luck.

I personally started as mobile and working from home, I gained experience that way but always made sure my initial clients knew that I was newly qualified. As I gained clients and experience, I gained confidence. Its hard to begin with and scary too, but it is possible to do it outside of a salon. Alternatively lots of salons will take on newly qualified techs and offer the service at reduced rates within the salon as you are inexperienced. Try small hair salons or beauty salons and see if they are interested, but if you can get some clients yourself I would follow that route for the time being. Hth's

The most important thing is to get as many people through your hands as possible and to record their progress well on your client record cards. Do nails whereever and whenever you can ... miss no opportunities. Keep your own enhancements immaculate and practise on yourself whenever you can.

There is no quick way to gain experience. It is a long hard slog. But with patience and determination you will get there as we all have.

Sometimes working in a salon is not a good experience and you can pick up very bad habits from other techs or be asked to compromise the standards you come into the salon with. You can always ask at your training school if they know of any salons looking for apprentices but be careful.

Get the word out there that you are doing nails and focus on that and the clients will come. Shout about what you are doing to anyone who will listen.
