I was wondering if anyone can offer some advice. I qualified in hairdressing 17-18 years ago but now require my certificate for a course. Obviously after all these years I have no ideas where they are. Does anyone know where I can get a additional copy from x

Assuming it was City & Guilds who were the awarding body, they should be able to find a record of your results. When you contact them, provide as many details as possible such as title of course as you remember it, college studied at, dates of qualifying, your full name, date of birth and address as it was at the time, etc.

There's no way my mum would have kept old certificates, she was always de-cluttering and chucking stuff out on a regular basis, even toys when I was little.
