Hi everyone,
i have completed my nvq level 2 hair and just about to get my qualification for my level 3 hair!!!!!
just wondering if any one has done an nvq2 in barbering? and if you found it benafishal?
as i want to be able to do gents hair i do a few regular gents but i only have the very very basic skills!! and would like to gain more knowledge and confidence in this?

Hi, it certaily feels very different actually making sectioning lines with the scissors and lifting the hair then cutting the hair with the scissor over comb techique at first, but it is great for doing gents hair cuts , and once you get the hang of the cutting angles it becomes much easier to master
practising loads , on a plastic dolls head with the sectioning lines drawn in on it helps a lot ,
I found barbering was a great thing to learn, so I would say yes go for it

yeah it is tricky! i gave my boyfriend a small bald patch lol  thanks for reply im going to apply for it soon i think.

If you get the opportunity to train in barbering then please take it! 50% of the population are male!
Plus it's very disciplined cutting and a good skill to have x

Hi,

I have nvq 2 hairdressing and recently went on a 12 week course for mens hair. It is well worth it. believe it or not, they are the fussiest clients and because of the hair being shorter there is no room for mistakes.

hi there I have an interview for hairdressing NVQ2 and I have read up on it I would go for it because people will always need their hair cut more than any other treatment tbh. :)

hi i done a 12 weeks barbering course and got my nvq level 2 qualification ..it is definatly worth doing even just to learn the clipper part blending in takes practice... more you do the better you get.... if you have already got your level 1,2 and 3 in hairdressing you should look into doing one of the 12 week courses... i done mine at trafford college and cost £265 or somthing around that but it is definatly worth doing xx
