Hi there,
I wonder if anyone could advise me how you obtain MSDS sheets when you purchase from places such as Salon Services & Capital? I'm assuming they don't stock sheets for every product they sell.

Any pointers much appreciated.

Lou xx

All suppliers should have the MSDS for every product they stock and they should be available free to any customer that requests them, hth

Thanks Louise x

Yes, Lou is correct. It is a requirement of the COSHH regs that MSDS are available for all products. You should just be able to phone up the supplier and get them sent/faxed to you. xx

Well I've been to Capital and they weren't even sure what I was talking about, once one of the staff realised what I was referring to they said they don't have them and have no obligation to supply them!
So I'm back to trying to hunt down contact details for the manufacturers of the products I've bought.....nightmare!!

The info i gave you is something that i read in the habias code of practise booklet for waxing,
you can view it online, it is at the top of page 13 hth.

pop a list on here of the suppliers you need to track down, im sure between us all we will have the contact details x

Thank you Louise.......If I'd have had something in writing to take with me I'd have argued the point with them....I'll have a look at the Habia site.
At the moment I need to get info from Combinal (for tints and peroxide) there are no UK contact details on their website.........Looking on the sites for the other products I have at the moment they do have UK contacts so will give these a call/email on Monday.
Thanks again, you're a star x

Hi,

What does MSDS stand for? :irked:

x

Material Safety Data Sheet

By law distributors and suppliers of dangerous substances and chemicals have to provide MSDS, to the trade, for free.

If a supplier is preventing you from keeping your legal responsibilities, by not providing MSDS, I would either shop somewhere else or talk to your councils health and safety department.
