So whilst I am a lash technician, a mobile beautician friend of mine has recently done a blow drying course and is offering them now, but she has no hairdressing qualifications besides this. Would people go to someone for just a blow dry with no other hair experience?

Why not? I think a lot of staff who work at blow dry bars based in cities are not qualified hairdressers. However, you do need to understand about different hair types and choosing the right products to ensure the hairstyle lasts well.

It’s not uncommon for people with an interest in make-up to offer hair styling and hair up services as they are complementary services and they often have a natural flair for it. It’s certainly very common for bridal specialists to offer both services.

I’m not interested in dressing hair and prefer cutting and colouring and actively avoid requests for complicated updo’s other than doing something relatively straightforward for a good client or family friend.

I think if she’s naturally talented, she’ll do well.

I wouldn’t, I’d prefer to go to hairdresser
