Hi all
Another question for you all please.

I do sell some retail products associated with my spray tans but if my clients don't want to fork out for these and ask if there are any products they can buy from high street chemists, what do you tell them? I know Nivea do an oil free moisturiser, but without having to go in and read all the labels I wondered if any of you knew of some.

Many thanks

H xx

Honestly, i would say that i cannot vouch for other brands as i am only qualified to speak for the brands i retail.

That way they are more likely to purchase them regardless of price.

Don't look for alternatives, look for a way to convince them your product is WORTH forking out for.

Did you have any luck with this as i'd also like to be able to tell people which ones are oil free

I know that fake bake offer an oil free moisturiser because i use it myself, its excellent and smells gorgeous!! Dont know about oil free shower gels however i know that st tropez do an creamy shower gel to retail with their tanning products which i can also recommend!

I knew one oil free shower gel from smarter.com...its Korres Jasmine Shower Gel and Aloe and Green Tea Oil Free Moisturizer by Alba Botanica.

Hope this would help.

I asked this question in my spray tan training as I predicticted it would be one that my clients might ask and I have not gone down the retail route myself. I was told that 'simple' products are very good, particulary as an exfoliator or shower gel. This is what I use. You can buy the exfoliator from boots if it's not in the supermarkets. I've also seen mentioned 'radox' shower gel on previous posts as relatively oil free. With regard to the moisturiser I use the Fake Bake Oil Free as well, but I'm guessing that once again 'simple' products would be good x

for exfoliation best to use a plain bar of soap or radox shower gel and an exfoliating glove as scrubs are full of oils etc..... best product is baking soda and exfoliating mitt.

I have read sooooooooooo many labels to steer people away from "petrolatum/petroleum/mineral oil/vaseline" etc....

I gave up. I just tell clients that it's simply impossible for me to read every product on the shelf.. It's not possible.
I tell them what to look out for. They can read.
OR
They can buy my oil or balm
OR
They just use good old fashioned natural stuff from the Naturiste store: almond oil or jojoba.
(but I'm speaking with regards to enhancements, don't know if those oils are ok for tans....)

So either they can buy from you OR they can stop being lazy and read the items at the store themselves.
