OK that's it, help me decide between 2 business names!

I'm doing my own head in! I decided against the business name I had planned on. It was going to be Cheesecake make up and nails (as in 1940's, 50's beautiful women being called Cheesecake, it was to have that kinda theme). But as time went on, I decided against it as I thought people'd see the name and think it's a bakery! Luckily I hadn't spent too much money, only business cards. I just can't decide between two names.

1)Pinkies Plus. This is the name I was going to use a few years back, when my husband told me to stop all this nails nonsense and go get a proper job:grr:. I really like it, but there's a website www.pinkiesplus.com where you can buy dead mice to feed your pet snake and that kinda puts me off:irked:

2)Betties Beauty. My name isn't Bettie, but I love Bettie Page (the chick in my avatar), Bettie Grable, Betty Boop, you get the picture! However my boyfriend reckons people might say it funny coming from Norfolk (as in Betties Booty, Matthews Norfolk Farms, Bootiful, etc!)

Oh, please, help me decide on which one to use will ya? As soon as I get a part time job I'm gonna start going mobile, so I need to be ready!

Out of the two i prefer 'betties beauty' but i think you may get annoyed with people constantly asking why your names betties and your name isnt bettie!
How about a mixture of the two like 'pinkies beauty, pink beauty, pink bettie???

Pinkies sounds just fine to me!!
You put a name in "Betty" etc. you're gonna get calls asking for Betty or people will just call it you in conversation...but if you don't mind that then go for it! x

I think Pinkies is great too. When I think of Betty's, I think sweaty Betty's or a really really old fashioned hairdressers (blue rinse brigade) or wool shop, I am weird I know.

When I was training my educator called NSS salons "Sweaty Betty's", anyone who trained at NSI Manchester will know who I mean .

Thanks guys, that really helps, I had narrowed it down, now I have even more swirling around in my head. Seriously, I do like Pink Bettie (I had "woah Pink Betty bam a lam" in my head when I read it too), and the original name was to be Pinkies 4 years ago, then I added the Plus due to doing other treatments too. OH, THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!

So, I just sat sticking different options in the bar at the top, eg www.pinkies.co.uk, www.pinkbettie.com, etc etc. and came up with problems. There's a website for pinkbetty.co.uk it's a vintage clothing store on ebay (might look at that later:wink2 and there are loads of pinkies all over the place, many of them nail techs.

THEN - I googles pinkies plus, and it came up with - ME - the old details I put in years ago, are still linking up on the web!

I think this may be an omen. I could do PINKIES + what do you think of that? It's still different to the others, but the emphasis is on the Pinkes part.

The only problem for me with Pinkies + (or plus) is that it doesnt make me think of beauty related treatments at all.

I would try and add some other word to pinkies to give the feel of a beauty name - I will have a think for you too.

Well I am still training and don't attach it as my signature as yet, but when i feel a bit more confident in my nails I will do.
I am gutted about not being able to get the website, but maybe I wont get big enough for that!! :lol:
