I'm freelance and I have a client wishing to have her ends pre-lightened then a copper colour over the top. As I've not done an ombre in a freelance setting before I have no idea what to charge, can anyone give me some prices so I can let her know a price please? Thanks

I charge £69 for a balayage with cut & finish. £5 for extra colours that’s in salon, if it’s only light work I will charge from £50 when I’m mobile but still aiming towards the £69 if it’s a full balayage xx

If she's looking for a real copper tone consider using colorissimo HLC it's and amazing bright copper and it lifts really well, no need to bleach and tone. Just a suggestion, making it quicker and more cost effective

I charge around £10 more than full head of highlights for full head balayage in salon. I don’t feel that as a mobile stylist it should be any cheaper than salon. If you had a chef come cook for you at your house you’d have to pay more than in a restaurant...why should hairdressers be any different. Especially now the way traffic is these days. They don’t have to arrange childcare, they don’t have to pay for fuel or parking, yes they have to clear up after you but it’s their choice to have it at home, wether it’s convenience or they really want you. Don’t undersell yourself, balayage is a specialist technique that not every hairdresser can do xxxxx
