Hi geeks,

I am so angry with myself!

I was messing about with a lid on a nail art pen that wouldn't go back on properly and the inevitable happened - it burst!!

I happened to be sitting at the pc desk at the time - right in front of my cream full length curtains (the heavy type) and it has sprayed all up them!

I'm not really bothered about the nets as they are only voiles and can be bought cheap but I am desperately trying to get the stuff off of my curtains!

I know it's a shot in the dark - but has anyone got any tips on how to remove this?

I was thinking of using nail polish remover or acetone but thought it might smudge it:confused:

It was one of the nib and brush type pens, been through the wash 3 times now and not coming out at all!

Please, please, please can anyone give me some tips???

xx

Some one else did some thing similar not too long ago, Judy put up a link that told you how to get it out , do a search you might find it

Find out if it is oil or water based paint and take it to your dry cleaners, they'll get it out for you. x

Either take it to the dry cleaners or go to a specialised curtain making shop / upholstery shop. They should be able to give you some advice. I know that in supermarkets there used to be stain removal kits that you add to the wash for certain stains but I must admit I have not brought these for about 4 years, so im not sure they are still around! Could also try yellow pages as im sure there are fabric cleaning / sofa cleaning companies around.
Hope this helps a bit, let me know
good luck

Thanks for all your helps geeks!:wink2:

I was debating going at it with acetone but thought better of it! lol

I will find out whether it is water based or not and take it to the dry cleaners I think.

Fingers crossed ;)

Hi mate,

I haven't managed to get them to the dry cleaners as yet but it is on my to do list for this week so I will post and let you know how I got on.

I've not long finally got an email from the company I bought them from to let me know whether they are water or oil based (water)!

Thanks for the interest - watch this space lol!

Thanks for that.

I tried acetone on my voile panels but the heavy curtains are cream and lined and I am thinking that if I try anything like that on them then it will ruin them as it will just spread to the other layer and make it worse iykwim.

I will try the dry cleaners this week if I get time and see what they can do with them

Thanks again for the reply.

good luck sarah
keep me posted
