I am a fully qualified therapist, have been and done an advanced waxing course with our kim and have done that many eye brows this week it is untrue. But two ladys have bruised on one eye. I use perron rigot wax, hold the skin tight. Please i feel awafull and in shock.

OK, first off, no one died. I know how you feel - I had an eyebrow disaster this week too (is there something in the water?!)
I guess it could be one of several things. I know that my eyebrows react more when it's my period. I know that people with a lot of red in their hair can bruise more readily.
The geeks here were very kind to me with my own eyebrow trauma, and all of them, without exception, said that it's happened to every one of us. Hair will grow back, and bruises will go down.
Take a deep breath, and take comfort.
:)

Have they bruised where you first pick the wax up to pull off, did you feel you were picking at them.If so maybe you didnt have it thick enough or take the wax far enough to the outside of the eye.Is it bruising or skinning.Did you use oil.Was it a hot day and the wax wasn't set enough.

Just my opinion but I find hot wax too much for some people and only use warm wax on these areas. You sound like you have got the experience so I suggest that it is probably the wax. If I use hot wax on my face know matter how cool, I get red heat bumps. I have also experienced bruising on my own underarms if too hot or very cool. Clients skin temp and sensitivity vary. Plus I could never get PR Euroblonde stable enough (may be my heater) but other brands fine. I have always had great results using warm wax on eyebrows.

I used blue oceon, with strip. Not tried using the none strip on eye brows. One lady uses the sun beds all the time and said after when she showed me the bruise, even though i asked loads of questions before, that she has bruised in the past. The other lady is a diabetic and was first time done. And i had to go over the area once or twice as her her hairs were so course. But It seems to be were i initially take off. The first lady had a small amount of bruising, second lady a red patch . On the bone just near to the fleshy part of the skin. I can not keep doing this. I have never bruised any one when i have used other wax in the past. Is it my technique. Please guys what am i doing wrong.
Can i just add the lady with diabetes, had obtained a letter from her gp and new that there could be after effects with her being diabetic. But still you feel terrible. May be i should not wax her again.

Ah we all presumed you were using non strip wax when you mentioned Perron Rigot and Kim.I thought Kim used Non strip for eyebrows.
I reckon you have just been unlucky.if you did a lot in a week and everyone else was fine then i do not think it is your technique.
For the future try using the non strip on them the eurose one is very nice easy to apply and gentle.

Hi I have never used the wax you mention but going over areas twice with warm wax is really not recommended. In the case of the lady with coarse hairs - may be a gentle hot wax is preferable. The diabetic lady may have poor healing process and could be prone to bruising.

Check that both are not using creams like Retinova, AHA products etc and their medications do not have skin sensitising effects. I have used Clean and Easy Normal (european wax) for over 20 years with reliable results.

I did the brazillion and eye brow course with kim, but on the training she used the oceon blue on my clients eye brows and strip wax. She used the none strip on the intermite areas and the cream hot wax on top lip. I only use two waxes, hve thought about getting anouther heater and using the other wax for more sensitive skin, but i would need anouther trolly and do not really have the space. Thank you guys for being so suportive, it is awfull when some thing goes wrong. The thing is you get ladies that come in with so many contra indications, ie varicouse veins, and diabetics and they look at you gone out when you say no. Then they are like well i ahve had them done befor. Also you go through an extensive consultation and then forget to tell you they have bruised in the past. I have a lovely lady on my books that is wonderfull and she has asked me to wax her legs, but she has varicouse veins that are quite deep and insistent that she wants them doing and can you not work around them. It is so hard

You could go back to your usual wax if you think that has suited you better. We do all get used to things and what some people may find great others don't get on with it.
I like my clean and easy and love the tiny applicator for eyebrows and get along just great with it others dont like it at all.It just has honey wax in it, if i have someone with very coarse dense eyebrows i will use perron rigot non strip.
I really like salon system sensitive creme wax and can easily do a bikini with it but if someones hair is particularly coarse or they want a very close bikini (i dont do extreme intimate waxing)again i will swap to perron rigot.
Others will never use strip on bikini and some thats all they use and get on fine ,never making anyone sore or bruised. Some use oil some use talc again i use both(not together). Its all horses for courses and what works best for you and your clients.
