Hi Geeks,

So one of my clients with long natural nails who has gel polish, recently stubbed a nail middle finger) this has caused Onycholysis down the sidewall and partly around cuticle area,it has also grown bacteria and is sore and a little hot...I have gently removed all product and length and advised to visit gp incase antibiotics are needed, but have also said keep clean and dry and apply neat tea tree twice daily...have I advised suitably, never had this before in my 15yrs of nails!? Thank you xx

Yikes! I think you've done everything right, I'd be leaving it alone for quite a while. She could probably have normal nail polish in a few weeks just to hide the imperfections whilst they grow out. With polish it's super easy to get off and check for any issues at any point, but she will at least be able to feel like she has pretty nails too.
