I could cry I have just bought the OPI Axxium uv gel lamp and some coloured gel and the sculpting kit, which cost me an absolute fortune. Just my luck to then find out about Shellac last night. It sounds as if it could be what I was looking for. I know people are always asking if you can mix gel and lamps. But would I be able to cure the Shellac polishes with an OPI Axxium lamp? This might be one for geek. Please make me happy and tell me it would work. I really can't spend another $250-00 on another lamp.

No, you will need the new Shellac lamp or a brisa gel lamp. There was a really good thread a few days ago, where Doug Schoon explained about different lamps, try doing it a search for it.

I have read that one but you can't blame a girl for trying, right? I was hoping that I might just be lucky. I really wanted to give Shellac a go once it comes out over here.

Maybe you should give it a try to Axxium lamp anyway, and than make a decision....

Sorry but this is poor advice. It has been said on here over and over again that you ned to use the correct light for your system.

You will not know by looking if the cure is correct. You could get service breakdown and possibly an over exposure problem.

Is it really worth just trying it to see.

Well both systems, CND and OPI are top in the industry and of course the quality will not be the same as if she was using Shellac lamp but I think that much more professional advice to this girl would be to try using Axxium Gel Laquer with this lamp, instead of just giving up on her investment.
