Just took my own nails off but my acetone was takin forever to soak off so i just sat in front of the tv filing the excess of....without realising how far down i went. My nails are paper thin, bits are red and sore..... but i cant live without my acrylics.

So, should i give it a few days before reapplying, or reapply and hope it corrects itself?? I know the answer is to leave them off, and id advise any customer to leave them off (just for the record, i would NEVER file haphazardly on a client - EVER) but i just cant live without them. Will it do any lasting damage to reapply? There arent any holes in my nails so no product would go onto the nail bed. Also, as they are quite tender, anything knocking against them sends me shooting through the roof, so would it actually make sense to reapply so they wont get damaged further?

One things for sure....il be soaking off a lot longer next time!!! :irked:

Please dnt shout at me LOL, i know iv been silly!!!!!!!!!!

i did the same hun got stuck in the telly & was happily buffing away!!! ouch is the word!!
i've left mine off for now & have been using opi original nail envy & after a week they feel loads better, gonna have a few more weeks of just polish on them i think though!
hpe they feel beter soon xxx

If you put your enhancements on it will take away the pain right away. You may experience some lifting as the area is so thin. Keep the enhancements short and you'll just need to wait till the damaged area grows out. We've all done it at some point, but guarantee you'll be more careful in future! LOL

awwww i always do this, im terrible on my own nails for picking them off and over buffing them as im sooooo impatient. But i cant live without acrylics!! just be careful when applying, dont file the tip in if you normally would and just polish them so you cant see the join.
 i feel your pain
x

Thanx for the replys!!! Will put a set on and keep them short and thin, so hopefully lifting will be minimal. I defo wont be doin it again in a hurry!!!
