I had my hair done after being laid up with a back injury for 18 months, during that time it was coloured using majirel but I had some banding. The colourist suggested bleaching to remove the banding and then a toner. I have long hair which apart from the banding was I really good condition, I`m naturally dark but went lighter to cover a large amount of stubborn grey, after bleaching I realised before she had even finished combing it how bad it was , very blonde ends and orange roots, she then said she didn't have time to lift it further and the toner would be uneven, and suggested I come back a week later ! I felt I had to agree, Im not physically up to spending ages doing it myself and haven't been a working hairdresser for a few years and have lost confidence. I went back and she reapplied but its so uneven I`m embarrassed, my fringe is fried literally ! The rest hasn't dried out as much, she used straighteners on my fringe and I think she had put lots of product on first. I was supposed to be a beige blonde not orange !. I have been using a reconstructor and hair mask since My dilemma now is I have a wedding next weekend and want to go to a warm natural colour that I can later have caramel lowlights too. can anyone suggest what I can use? if it was just tint I wouldn't be worried but have never had this much bleach before , my roots are coming through very , very dark.

Can you put up a pic of your hair ?

hi, thanks for the reply. I took a few hope you can see what I mean ! I've created an album kjp, over processed I`d really appreciated it if you could have a look and would welcome any advice !

I've seen the pictures and wow!

Do not use straighteners on your fringe! It looks pretty badly broken so one option would be to cut a new fringe in by bringing a small section of your hair forward and cutting it to cover the broken bits. Dry it gently using a comb with fine teeth and diagonal sections.

For a short term solution you could try toning down the brassy areas but it could end up patchy looking. How porous is the rest of your hair?

Ideally, you need to find a new colourist who actually knows what they're doing. Did she mix bleach with 40 vol to cause that level of damage?

yes she did, I have now covered my fringe but its still visible, this hairdresser apparently has 20 plus years experience and is regularly used for high-end photo shoots , personal friend of boy George etc... so I though I was in safe hands . boy was I wrong ! used a hair mask last night and im being extra careful but I've got a lovely wedding at the weekend and im not sure I want to go now. I live in a small village and have rang one or two and been honest about how bad it is and they don't want to touch it I can get to the wholesalers but im unsure about what to put on it now as its so bleached. the ends aren't too bad its more how uneven it is and the fringe.

How do i view the photos?

its in media? albums under kjp, named over processed.

I couldnt see it until i realised i was not logged in i recommend some Olaplex treatments and not to use too much heat on your hair xx

Hi, I've seen the photos, and I can see how uneven it is. Honestly I think you may have a hard job trying to get it even yourself. what is your aim for the wedding? , to be a nice shade of blonde and more even? Or to be a natural warm colour? What colour house would you prefer to use?

no preference for branding to be honest, as for end result I`d just like it to look more natural, maybe a cool beige blonde as apposed to more warm golden honey tones . going slightly darker will be kinder to the hair and that's the main thing to minimise any more damage. at the same time going darker is more ageing so nothing to dark too quick, cant take anymore shocks ! thanks for the reply.

I think maybe something like 30 g 9/17 +10g 9/7 wella koleston perfect with pastel all over would hopefully give you more of an even tone, and mask the banding. What is your natural base colour?
