Ladies...
Quick question…how long do natural nails have to be to apply overlay?...do you need a quite long free edge?...I have this client who is coming tomorrow, she has a little free edge…is that ok? Do I have to be careful not to go on the skin right?..
I done it before but the freeedge was comfortable to work with…any advice pls! thanks xx:)

There is no rule about this --- you can overlay any length. Most peole prefer to have a little added length to enhance the look of the nails but you don't HAVE to. The nails will grow.

Thanks geeg!!...xxx:)

99% of the time i overlay...what i say to my clients is that if you are not used to having nails and then all of a sudden you have them it can take some getting used to...but if i overlay what you have...give the impression of length, you can get used to them gradually as they they grow...they will grow better as they are protected and i bet after a few visits you will be asking for me to file them down as they are too long......and they do.

thanks...Im thinking of doing it on my own as well...actually I might as well try tonight and practise for tomorrow!

another thing...do u think it is ok to use a monoma which is a different brand from the acrylic powder?...I heard it is not good.
I am using MAGNETIC at the moment...and bought a monama from Millennium, before the one Im using now finishes....what do you think?

xxx:)

dont forget to cap the free edge well.

No mixing different brands is not recommended.

It is monomer, pet , and you definitely should not use the monomer from one system with the powder from another on a person anyway. Monomers and polymers are formulated specifically to work together in tandem.

You can always use old monomer that you want to get rid of when practising smile lines on tips or for practise on the nail trainer or similar. But not on people.

UPS...MONOMER..I got it!...lol...
Ok will def not used different brands !

Thanks :)
