Parrafin wax heating

Hi all,

This may be a stupid question but can I heat parrafin wax up in a normal wax heater? is so does it go straight into the metal base and if so, how do I get it out afterwards?

I use one of my wax heaters that I have for waxing and it works fine.
Make sure you have a metal tin in it though otherwise it'll get in a right mess.
