I let the client pick the time. In this game I find it helps to be flexible. You will probably find the friends will turn up at different times.
And if they are a little drunk I always see the funny side of it really. It's never happened to me where they are so drunk they cant stand up. I have been to many people that have had a few glasses of wine just to calm their nerves of standing naked infront of a complete stranger.
I think you are maybe worrying a little to much. Tanning parties are great fun and you get to have a giggle as well as getting paid.
Good luck with it chick xxx

I think you need to think about yourself in all of this!!
I certainly wouldn't want to start working at 9pm, don't know about you! I would ask them what sort of time they were after, and see what the answer is. Work out how many tans you can do in an hour (4, for example), and ask how many guests she has. Simple maths, if there are 8 people, that's 2 hours work for you. If you started at 9pm, you'd not finish til 11pm...and that's not counting you setting up and packing away, plus them faffing about in between!! (What you think will take you 2 hours will take more like 3 in reality). Do you really want to be working until midnight?

I would give them some flexibility with time, but be sensible about it

It really does depend on how flexible you want to be. I don't mind working until late. I'm a night time chick, i love it. At xmas I was tanning until 11pm. I don't care as long as the wedge is coming in. Bombalurina has made some valuable points hun. Two hours can easily turn into 3!!
To save a little bit of time, give them cards to fill out as you are setting up. Tell each of them to keep the card until they are ready to be sprayed and then take a look to see if there are any contra-indications. As you are finishing one client have the next one ready. You can try and be organised and get everyone in order (all in one go) but 9 times out of 10 I find it never actually works out that way.
Hope that helps xxx

You could get the host to ask her guests to bring their dressing gowns (not white) to change into while waiting for their turn,
then your not waiting for each one to undress,
or you could supply these as an extra nice touch,
primark are cheap and cheerful for dressing gowns, hth
