Do all insurers require patch tests before spray tans are carried out?

I’ve just looked over the policy wording for the Beauty Guild and they require a patch test for all clients before the treatment and if you change brands.

I’ve been for many spray tans and never had a patch test done.

Thanks x

No they don’t, it may depend upon your training.
My training advised to patch test if it was the clients first time tanning or if they’d had a previous reaction.
Check with other insurance providers.

I’ve coloured my hair in salons for 20 years and yet to have a patch test! And lash fx don’t require a patch test for their lash extensions but I think I’d prefer to do it.

What’s your preference?

I do with all clients under 18, and/or if a client had stated that they have had an allergic reaction or a skin complaint to a spray tan before.

If your insurance states that you have to patch test then yes, you do. You want to make sure you are fully covered if anything goes wrong x
