Patch tests for mobile therapists

Can any other mobile therapists tell me how they conduct their patch tests for eyelash/brow tinting or lash perming as I found myself travelling 22 miles today (round trip) just to carry out a tinting patch test!

I have heard that there is some form of postal test which you can send the client but don't know much about it. Any ideas??? How do you all carry out your tests?

Any new clients I have regardless of them not booking for a eyelash tint I do a patch test so that when they do decide to have one its already been done.

I had that done to me at a salon a few years ago actually...while the mask for my facial was on, the therapist patch tested me for tinting and perming solutions, before continuing with the massage...I quite liked that, as she noted on my card that she'd done it, and called me the next day to see if I'd reacted. Made me think about booking something else too.

However, if it's a brand new client wanting a tint, then i'm not sure how you'd get around this...Logic was never my strong point!!!

You should have a minimum price that you go out for, not just one service, the client should at least book a few treatment services with you, if you are going to travel a distance to see them. xx

Im mobile in Lancashire and I use 'Colourstart' which is a patch test that the client does themselves (you post it to them).

I find it works out really expensive though as you have to buy a box of 50 minimum and they only last for 3 months. (they dont tell you this when you buy them) so you end up throwing loads away.

hey!

I work mobile and have only been doing it for about 5 months now but i find it a nightmare with carrying things around all the time and going into other peoples houses can be quite difficult at times with children pets etc i am just wondering if anyone else finds this?

What about if the patch test needs to be done between 24 and 48 hours previous to the tint? as it is with Thuya!!! I know Thuya perm patch tests last for 6 months though.

People can react differently even if they have had a test before, they really do need it doing according to manufacturers instructions for each brand.

I would try and fit the patch test in the day before between my other clients, I do work in a smallish area so it usually works out that I am near by, or I would try and book them in when I know I am in the area the day before. Hope that makes sense.

hi I always get people to come to me for a patch test. I would not travel to them
