hello everyone.
I recieved some really good advice on here a few months back. I want to train as a nail tech. I got halfway through my college course a few years ago, but quite frankly the course was crap and so was I! I am keen to train with Creative in plymouth.

Firstly does anyone have the link for the creative homepage? cant find it anywhere! secondly, am i really employable after having completed the 5 day foundation course? lastly, and a personal question i know, but how much can i be looking to earn asa nail tech.....any help apriciated, thanx!

You will need to ring Sweet squared as there isn't an online contact yet.

Call 0845 210 6060

I did my CND training with Katrina in Plymouth last year. I wanted to let you know that she is fantastic, give Sweet Squared a ring and they will give you her number. Give her a call and she will tell you everything you need to know.

when I finished my course with her she told me that I should be charging at least £25 for a full set. So I did! I've still got clients today that I started with then. :)

thank you both. debs, did u start working as soon as you finished the foundation l&p course?

Although there are odd exceptions to tthe rule as always, I think you have to be realistic and know that if you want to compete with the good techs around you, it is not going to happen in 2 minutes.

A foundation class is just that .. it gives you the foundation on wihich you will spend the rest of your professional life building (AND FRANKLY, WOULDN'T LIFE BE BORING IF IT WERE ANY OTHER WAY)?

Nails is not an easy profession and experience is vital ... experience only comes with time. So if you think it is going to be a quick and easy option .. I'm afraid you are sadly mistaken. If it were that easy then everyone would be doing it.

There are allot of mediocre and just plain bad techs that don't last 2 minutes. Then there are the dedicated professiohnals who are making good money because they care about their clients and the good health of their nails and they look after them with fantastic customer service. Not ONE of them did this over night or without making sacrifices Nor were they perfectly competent after a 5 day foundation course.

You can start to charge from day one but it is When you have completed your Master Classes (approx one year) then you can say you are fully competent.

Hi
I have just completed a man / ped and nail tech course at Saltash College. I am now a qualified ITEC Nail Tech ... They teach you the Creative Way, following all Creative procedures. I think by doing the year long course I now feel confident in my ability, something I don't think I would of been if I did a short course.
