Hi,Im having a few phone calls recently from people, just asking about prices,Im just concerned where else they are going as there not getting back to me,I am charging the average price for a set in the area I feel ,but it just worries me there finding somewhere cheaper..ie:mma or nns salons and going there..and I get the brunt of it when they want infills,..do you think I should make them aware that cheaper could be less hygiene and could cause complications, and if so how would you word it?

Do you think these are genuine customers calling or students doing assignments where part f the assignment is to compare local prices in salons? If not, then ....

No I wouldn't go into the 'you get what you pay for' argument. People who are genuinely shopping on price don't really care.

What I woud do is tell them what YOU offer for that price and give them a alternative quick treatment price for PopIts which is cheaper and quicker than your other service. PopIts is perfect for this type of customer and will really put bums on seats for you.

Having more than one service PRICE option makes you much more competitive.

I had this last week, he sounded very dissapointed when I told her my prices, as I'm about average I was quite surprised. No-one else seems to have any problem with my pricing xx

Then grab this market with PopIts. THESE ARE your PopITs customers in the making. :green:

I don't get paranoid and I don't give a shyte, I tell them my prices.

It would do my head in if i thought every phone call had an ulterior motive.

I refer them to my website, then they can make up their own minds, I'm not interested in cheap prices or cheap clients.

Could be just new competition checking out your prices hun

For once I agree totally with every word lol!

If you need the customers then why not try and get some details off them.
Offer to send them a pricelist maybe and maybe even a new customer discount, whatever you think you can offer.

So do I BUT we are talking from a position of great stregnth and reputation for what we do ... IOW we can afford to turn customers like this down. In the case of Carl and Myself I would guess we have 40 years experience of doing nails and highly successful busiesses.

In case no one has noticed ... we are in a recession. Techs tell me every day it is getting harder to get new people into the salon and many of the old faithfuls are 'having a rest' from nails which really means they are cutting back and feel they cannot afford it!!

DON'T OFFER THESE ONES A DISCOUNT!!! OFFER THEM AN ALTERNATIVE SERVICE. A FULL SET IN 30-40 MINUTES AT A REDUCED COST. They then may think twice about stopping having their nails done and they may think twice about going 'up the road' to a cheaper person.

PopIts will reduce your time and give you the chance to offer a beautiful service at less cost and you loose nothing.

I'm telling you from the customer's point of view giving a discount is just like telling them that you can afford to work for less money than you have been getting!! BAD signal to be giving out. WE are professionals and we don't discount!! Offer an alternative service and give the customer the choice and you may actually make more per hour than you are doing now because you will be doing a set in half the time it normally takes you.

Does no one understand this concept???

hi, the more detail i use in nail art the more i charge my prices start from £5:lol:

Does no one understand this concept???

I certainly do, and have had several heated discussion with my Mama about this. She thinks I should offer her senior citizen chums a full blown Spa manicure or Raw Earth pedicure for a fiver each. And I won't! I'll do a nail prep and polish for a tenner but I'm not spending out on time and materials only to find myself well and truly out of pocket. I know it wouldn't be repeat business because I would have to increase my prices and once they've had it so cheap they would expect that rate again. Mama's response? People want a bargain, and I don't think you can afford to be choosy in a recession.
I told her that if they can find the same service elsewhere good luck to them, but it won't be from me!

I can understand the concept of a set of PopIts taking less time to apply in the first instance, yes.

But 90% or more of our work is rebalancing. Would a rebalance with PopIts take less time than a traditional rebalance?

Yes

^some will, imo.

if you use an opaque pink, then for one appt it can be a simple infill with just a bit of "buffing" to get it to the high shine

But how long on average does it take before you can do a perfect set of poppits if I buy them? will I pick it up straight away or will it be practice , practice, pratice, for another few months?

it depends on you!

if you understand things quickly, if you get tu use them quick...

and if you have a good educator too!!

Could somebody pm me the price then please for the training?:)

So given a basic straightforward rebalance, with no problem areas, how long are you looking at for a Popit rebalance? :)
