hey people
right through college i used young nails products and found them quite nice to work with. since finishing college i have now started doing extra training corses with ezflow products and one of the courses was with the new HD products.

sooooooooooo.

1st attempt - i use the hd kit on my mam - she has short nails but not really short but short enough to extend the nail bed - completed them as instructed and the next day they poped off one by one. grrr lol

2nd attempt - after talking thinking of what was wrong i bort some ezflow primer (smells like sweaty feet lol) and done the same process but with pretty pink free edge and once again they poped off

3rd attempt - now im getting really cheesed of so i talk to people and stay awake thinking why oh why. so this time i used the cover pink and faded it down the nail bed and used the hd pink for the rest (looked much better and my smile lines are getting some practice). next day they started lifting and within about 2 days i needed to take the rest of the nails of that hadnt poped off

my brain in working in overtime and thats not normal for me lol

i cleanse the hands with mundo stuff - push back the cuticles and buff the nails as always do - im not 100% with ezflow as a tiny but differnt so on 2nd attempt i used one coat of primer - i started with the cover pink to enxtend and blended back and added the hd pink to the rest of the nail and then finished of the nails as normal with colour etc and capped in clear

i was told that i may be putting to much cover pink on the nail plate and more than likely its my application but dear me, i cant do nails like this on clients lol

i never had issue with young nails but is this beacuse ezflow is differnt in ways and im using it wrong or am i missing someting

please help as loosing faith quick lol and sorry for the essay :0) x

oooo yes guys if you look on my profile there is a set of nails i done on my mam which are the ones with the pink colour tips and a little flower on and the next picture is the length of her nails - that was my second attempt lol so helpppp ha ha x

h.d needs quite a dry ratio. could you be more used to a wetter one with young nails and maybe havent adjusted correctly.

also i dont see on your prep the removal of cuticle from the nail plate.

but to reassure you, theres no reason why the cover pink should be any more of a problem than anything else.

ooo right - i do like to use it a bit wetter as to me it seems as though it sets in place quickly - and the prep wasnt fiished - i have a magic wand witch gets used very well he he (my fave tool) but i hadnt done the prep properly before takin me piccy :0)
its probably just the way that i am doing it but its winding me up - i guess id better get that hand trainer out. Thanx angel x

I apologise in advance for offering a reply as I am not a professional, just a beginner. In my recent batch of research papers that I read (I like to read!) it talks a lot about shrinkage of a product.

It says that shrinkage is a very common cause of lifting and nails popping off and that one of the main 2 causes is not following the manufacturers directions and using a mix that is too wet.

Normal shrinkage is anything between 3% and 20% but anything over 12% is classed as excessive and can lead to problems.

I know this doesn't help with a definitive answer to your question but it may help with the lifting and shrinkage issue :D

You mum's nails look lovely too hun :D xx

I have used EZ Flow and am currently using Young Nails products. The ratios are different so you will need to get used to the new product. If you can't get used to it why not go to what you know best and get on with already. You can order Young Nails products online or over the telephone just go to the website and have a look.

Both are well known brands but at the end of the day it is what you prefer. :)

SO are you scrubbing them using EZFlow bond ( which is a dehydrator) then a seperate primer ?
When I first got the kit i didnt use a primer as its a primer optional system, since using the primer I have found it fab!

Press your brush into the dappen dish to saturate then wipe lightly both sides of the brush, dip into powder but pat pat pat rather than drag as this starts the activation of the system, press quite hard with the application and make sure you use a 240 file to prep the nails hth

ooooo i havnt used the bond - maybe that would make sense lol

and i love youngs but moving to easy flow as the lady who i have been doing extra training with is opening up a salon and i will be renting a chair hopefully in sept and she uses ezflow and thats all i will be alowed to use which makes sense just im finding it hard

thanx for the help guys - i do believe its me doing something wrong, but just seeing wht that is but ill have another shot :0) x

oh, and HD is quite dry so wipe your brush after you have popped your bead on the nail x

Part of the problem could be the lenght. As far as I can tell the free edge is a lot more than 1/2 of the nailbed? This could make your Mum bang her nails into everything leading to lift and combined with wrong mix-ratio also comming off.
But when you say pop off, is there any damage on the natural nails? Try checking that...
