Hiya

This is a bit random so forgive me . . .

The kids have kept toys in seagrass baskets in their bedroom for a year or more. The baskets look beautiful but boy, do they stink! I noticed it as soon as we got them, but I thought it would wear off. But it hasn't.:irked::lol:

So, as I'm sick of the musty, farty smell in the bedroom (yes its definitely the baskets lol) can anyone offer any advice, other than flinging them? (And at about £20 each and there's 5 of them, I'm not keen)

Has anyone a remedy for this? Please say its not just me who's noticed this. I've sprayed with air fresheners, left them outside in summer, etc etc.

I hate people going in their bedroom cos of the smell. Its totally getting on my wick now, enough is enough. Either these baskets clean up their act or they'll have to go.

Please help!

Have you tried a plug-in air freshner? They're often much stronger than a spray and some of them release a puff of fragrance every so often, keeping everything smelling quite fresh.

Thanks Noodle, no I haven't tried that . . . . but I probably will soon!

I know the smell you mean hun, mine luckily has faded.
How about lining them with scented drawer liners or put a little bag of lavender in them.

How about giving them a little spray with Fabreeze?
