So many threads seem to break down with a heated discussion that Shellac is not a gel polish. If the discussion is about a non brand specific topic would using the term "UV polish" be accurate enough to cover all brands? :grr::grr:
 
If you are happy with classing L&P to include EMA systems, MMA systems and UV cured L&P then yes.

If by using the term 'acrylic' to describe just about every nail enhancement, (including tips) then yes.

Personally, I think the variations need clarification. If it is a gel polish (i.e. purely a UV cured oligomer with pigment at a low viscosity), it's a gel polish. If it has some gel polish ingredients PLUS traditional polish ingredients, it is different. Call it a 'power polish', call it a 'hybrid'. There is no specific classification for it as yet.
