Hi, we have recently opened and applied for our prs music licence straight away as I new that was required , now we have had phone calls and letters and now an invoice telling us we owe money to ppl also which seems to be the same thing , do any of you no if we need both ?

Hi

They represent different parties: one representing the artist and the other the record company.

The 2 have started to think about simplifying the whole thing and for example, if you have 4 or fewer employees, there's a joint licence you can apply for. Look at prsformusic.com.

Costs are tax deductible and at least you can play music in your salon legally :)
