Ok guys... I have bitten the bullet and put some pictures of my first sets of sculpts on my profile.

I did try to upload a pic to the critique section but it said I didn't have enough space. To be honest, I'm fairly pleased with what I've done so far but I know I've got such a long way to go... inconsistent smile lines, different lengths, flat fanned shape free edges.. the list is endless. Not to mention blending tips!!

But I just thought I would get some pics up early and get it over with. Any tips to correct my mistakes would be greatly appreciated.

Ta x

I honestly think you are beating yourself up far too much, we are our own worst critics,
your nails look bloody fab for a first attempt, you must be one of the very rare few that have a natural ability for nails,
i wish my first set looked that nice,
the only advise i can offer is to keep up the good work and keep practising at correcting all the little faults that you can already see, you are doing very well
Oh yes and you will pass your foundation with a set that good no problem.

I can't say much more than Louise has already, I think your nails look fantastic

They look great - well done :)

Pat yourself on the back chic, or moreso, get a bottle of wine and celebrate.
I think you've done a great job.
Dont be too hard on yourself. We all have to start somewhere. If you are really passionate about what you do, you will strive to succeed.
Hope it all goes well for you. XX:hug:

There really nice youve got no worries xx:hug:

Hiya ! God i wish my first set had looked this good :) you should feel very proud of yourself honey well done xxx

You do very good job, must be proud of yourself!x

They look cute, don't be so hard on yourself :)

Thanks :)

I'm panicing a bit though as my exam is on 7th August and I've run out of models.. need to keep practicing. Still got to find a model for my exam. I'll have to resort to bribery soon :)

Try your local school ask the year 11 if anyone would like to be your model and have a FREE set of nails or the local play group ask the mums the same.

As for your nails, well what can I say...........
Blinking well done hun, these are great:hug:

Aww thanks

Ha ha...tried the school thing, my daughter's just finished year 10 and she's put the word about for me. Got a couple of models, one has ripped two sets of acrylics off in last couple of months (told her to grow them out as she has thinned her nail plates quite badly), the other picks her nails and has picked one down into the nail bed and looks quite sore so I decided I'd rather let that grow out first too!! I missed prom night I think

i think your nails look lovely and by your descriptions you already know where you have gone wrong which is even better.
i think your smile lines have really improved and you have balanced the nails out very well.
your doing great and im sure you'll pass your exams.xx

Although it might seem as though you're being too hard on yourself (which you are really ) it's good that you can see where improvements need to be made and know what you need to concentrate on.

What you also need to do is to remind yourself of where you got it spot on, ie your zone 3 which is smooth and flawless, you can't see where the product ends and the natural nail beings, and that's how it's supposed to be :D

Give yourself a huge pat on the back because you thoroughly deserve it. I don't think you'll have any problem passing your foundation, then the fun will really begin :D
