Hi Geeks

I have been practising doing nails on myself as everyone says if you can do your own then you can do anybodies. But unfortunately there is only so much your own nails can take. So i went out and bought this rubber hand that attached to my table (it is not one of those really expensive ones was only £20 for the wholesalers). But is it a night mare, i cannot get tips to stick to it and when i finally did get a tip on i then could not get my l&p powder off and ended up cutting my finger trying to get it off.

Does any one have any other ways that they use to practice, or do you think it is worth investing in one of the proper trainer hands (they are just alot of money and with me just starting out didn't want to spend to much), or has anyone got one that they wish to sell.

Thanks Fello Geeks :)XX

I would say it is definitely worth investing in the more expensive nail trainer, the best place to get one cheaper is ebay and I am sure you will not regret it as I use mine daily.:)

Hi, I am very new to nails, I don't start my course until November. I also want one of these trainer hands. I think this will be a great investment and you can get a used one in good condition off ebay . They are very expensive to buy new. :)

Hi,

I got a really good second hand one for just €30 on Gumtree so its worth to keep on checking teh buying and selling websites like Gumtree and Ebay etc. You can just order the nails and other little bits from the website if needed.

Want to practice product application for the small cost of 50 pence??

Buy some blue tac ... roll into a finger sized 'log' and push a tip into the blue tac and then lower onto the log firmly and squeeze together. PERFECT!! No having to apply and blend tips every time you just want to practice smiles or product application.

I get all my students onto this trick and it is brilliant and costs nothing. You can practice everything apart from tip blending. It is realistic and easy. Enjoy ... I just saved you a heap of dosh.

GREAT tip Geeg!

Plus I believe tip blending should be mostly practised on a real finger anyway! There is feeling and the results of poor and damaging blending can be easily seen and felt on a real nail!!!!!! It brings home the importance of doing it right

i agree fantastic tip x
