hey people im vey new to nails. ive done gels and acrylic but am interested in buying some pre desined tips. is there any difference when putting these on to any normal set of gels and acrylics. also does your application need to be different? any advice greatly received

once you have done your prep remove the shine from the tip and apply to the nail then go about applying your gel/acrylic in the normal way.

Some predesigned tips are quite thick so you might have to gently thin the well area (providing the design dont go right on to it) otherwise just apply a little more product over the join. HTH

ah thanks for the reply hun.. do you know where abouts you can buy them from

Hello.

I am purely just a customer. I had just recently moved to upstate NY. So, I've got my new manicurist. Unfortunately, I have not seen anyone with predesigned tips that I could go to their manicurist instead. So I had a thought, is it possible that I can purchase predesigned tips (both full and half well) and take them to my manicurist to put them on me. She does not know where she can get these stuff nor what I was talking about. At first she thought I was talking about those cheap peel and stick design tips. LOL.

Does anyone know a reliable website that has a HUGE collection of predesigned tips ranging from animal prints to floral to holidays to butterflies to a whole bunch of different designs if you get my drift. I tried searching here to see if anyone has posted that thread, and mostly is about finding Gucci and LV tips. I don't want those LOL. I like florals especially that the tip is sheer colors that you could see through if you know what I mean.

I would never do that.

when I need a surgery, I don't pop up with my scalpel and stuff, if you see what I mean.
let your tech know you dig nail art, and she may be a good nail artist and you'll come home with even better stuff.

I wouldnt quite compare what we do to surgery haha but I get what Doorie is saying.

I wouldnt be hugely insulted if someone brought predesigned tips along, as I dont provide nail art, however I would rather recommend someone I know who does provide it cos it's not really my thing. Another option is to ask your tech to look up sites herself or to go to her local supplier and ask if they can help her out?!

I always compare to medical. just because it makes ppl laugh and think about it a little bit ;);)

my fav quote used to be "you learnt to do nails on Youtube and have a brain tumor? well I am a brain surgeon, I learnt it off Dr House too"

if she isn't into nail art herself, the tech, she should def give you the add of someone who provides it.
now if SHE asks you to bring tips, then maybe...

but still. we get used to a kind of tip we love more than the others and tend to use everytime (typically those that fit basically any nail type) and those predecored tips are usually wayyyy different, hard, etc.

Essentail nails do a selection of pre designed tips

Hi Sue, I have been wanting to try these tips for a while now as I already use there white tips but what kept putting me off was some of the tips have designs half way up and I did not know were abouts I should place the tip on the natural nail as some look as though they need to be placed on zone 2 rather than zone 1.
Do you know what I mean does this make sence to you.
Could you please let me know how you apply them do you blend ect.

sorry to but in but I got all excited when Sue mentioned these.

Hiyah Ellie

I choose my designs very carefully so I tend to go for tips that have a lot of clear well so then I can pre-tailor them to fit zone 1.
You also have to lightly white block them before applying the overlay.. but be careful as you buff off the design so a gentle lick of the block should do it.

as a tech i'd be willing to do them if a client brought in some proper professional tips. i wouldnt stock them myself as it would be a large outlay to supply a selection and i dont think i'd have the demand.

ask your tech if she would consider it if you supply them make it clear that you wouldnt expect a reduction in the price as that would be cheeky.
