I would like to add massage to my treatment list but I have no idea of what to charge...where I live people do not have much money so Im gonna need to offer a fairly low price to begin with.

How much do you charge?

Hi angie32, I charge £30 for an hour and £20 for a 30 min treatment, this is actual treatment time though so I allow and extra 15/20 min getting dressed/undressed and asking what they want from Treatment/health issues ect. good luck :)

Hi, I do a lot of massage and live up north.

I charge £20 for 25 mins and £28 for 55 Mins Swedish and £25 for 25 mins Aroma and £33 for 55 Mins Aroma.

This is slightly high for my area but I specialise in massage and have done for nearly 12 years so my clients dont question the price so I guess it depends on your own circumstances.

Good luck with the new addition to your treatment list !! xx:)

I'm the same as Stirthemud. I work mobile and the half hour massage does take up nearly an hour of my time by the time I have set up, and packed down giving them time to rouse from the couch. And by gosh, do they know they have had a half hour back massage. It is really popular. I wouldn't charge less, unless they have earned a special offer.

You say people in your area wouldn't pay too much. My suggestion would be to either find a shorter treatment to go with a lower price or to try and get the message out as to what a massage can do. I think a massage is solid work and quite a work out that you need to paid properly.

Good luck.

Massage is my top treatment,
I charge £18 for 25 minutes and £25 for 55 minutes and £34 for 85 minutes.

For advanced massages like Indonesian and Aromatherapy and Lomi Lomi I charge an extra £3.

hi - i used to charge £32 for full body but just put my prices up so its now £35 and i charge £25 for 30 minute back neck and shoulder...you could offer a £5 off voucher or something to get the ball rolling so to speak?

We are salon based and charge £38 for a 55 minute massage

We charge £35 for 30min back, neck & shoulder massage, £65 for 1hr full body massage, £75 for 70min hot stone massage, £75 for 90min Thai massage, £40 for 25min Indian Head massage etc.

We are always turning people away for massage - it's the most popular treatment by far!

I think the Industry standard is circa £40 for the basline 55 min Swedish.

We are circa £50 for 55 Swedish, £10 more for Deep Tissue. More still for MLD and Reflexology, AIS etc. But we are lucky enough to be in an area where the corporate spas charge upwards of £70 for basic Swedish so we do well.

You could always do a lower base price and upsell say aromatherpay or stones where there isn't too much effort involved.

With massage you have to think of yourself as you burn out quickly especially if you are working your but off for not much money.
