I'm looking at increasing the prices of my manicures and pedicures by £2.00 as i feel at the moment they are a bit too cheap, but im worried about putting my regular clients off. Has anyone ever had problems with increasing prices?

Thanks in advance for any replies

Hi,
I had the same situation 2 years ago regarding manicure & pedicure prices, I was only charging £16 for pedicures & £14 for manicures, I put mine up by £2 each.
I did posters to let the clients know a few months before to give them plenty of notice, everyone was fine with it, as my prices are still lower than most.
If you do email newsletters etc you could mention it in that.
Hope that helps
Love Emma x:hug:x

I put my prices up at the end of last year/beginning of this year & have had no issues. I put most of them up by £2. As long as people have warning (let them know at the end of their appointment when they are booking their next treatment that the price has gone up & will be £x) then generally you will have few complaints & no-one's going to quibble at a pound or so!

I too put my prices up at the end of last year by £2 or so and £5 on hair colours!
I had a notice in the salon saying that there will be a new price list which will be effective from 1st January or whenever.
I kept the poster up for a few weeks so everyone saw it.

Everything goes up in price babes, if they moan tell them there has been an increase in your product prices and you have to cover it. £2 isn't a lot. xx

Thanks for all your replies, i've been wanting to increase them for a while but have been worried about loosing clients as i work from home. I'll get a notice made and give my clients pleanty of warning. Thanks again :)

We put our prices up in January based on what others were charging in the area, etc. and most clients were more than happy. In fact, some were amazed that they weren't even higher.

I think we made a big point that we hadn't raised prices in a three years so when the rise in price came in, it was a lot more easy to accept.

I think you'll be fine. If in doubt, ask a couple of your regulars who will give you an honest answer.

If someone near you is a lot cheaper, then that's the only time you may lose people.
