Hi everyone im new to this site and i've spend the last week or so looking through the threads especially the LASH ones. Im going to do my lash training this saturday with "Glam Lash" in glasgow. I know that i will obviously not be charging until i feel confident and have had lots of practice but when it does come to charging im really confused. I understand that pricing can vary from place to place but there doesn't seem to be a uniform way of pricing. Most of the websites i've seen vary dramatically which might be due to location. So I went round a few salons close to me and they are pricing PER Lash anything from 50p to 90p which seems to me to be a bit more sensible as every client will be different on the "look" that they want. As i've not had my training yet and i don't know what the minimum lash would be to look reasonable im just wondering how others view this pricing strategie?
Im sooooo excited and can't wait for Saturday to come. It's been ages since i was taught anything and hope i will be able to get the hang of it. I did an NC Hairdressing Course many moons ago lol but wished i'd taken the beauty route instead.
Just 1 more question.....lol. I have a few models lined up for me to practice on but when i've done them could i practice on a set of strip lashes? Just a thought.
Right time to stop babbling on

Thanks Pauline x

Hi,
I was thinking about doing lash extensions as well at some point....I have seen more in my area (Derby) that are priced per set, anything from £40 for natural look to £100 plus for a "diva" look. You could try pricing like that, say for example £40 for between 80 - 100 lashes (not sure of quantities on lashes for each effect) I just searched on google and trawled through loads of different salons to see what they charged....I do agree that per lash is a good way to charge, however i think i'd lose count of how many lashes i'd used! lol!!

Hi Pauline, I would say that anything from 30 lashes per eye will give you a basic set. My demi-sets are between 30 and 40 per eye, and full sets between 60 and 80 per eye. I have pics in my album if you fancy a look at the difference, but I am still new to extensions myself so they aren't perfect lol. For prices I charge, feel free to have a look at my website x
I just bought some false strip lashes to put on my daughters doll so I can practice :) All the practice you can get will help with your speed and technique.

I also trained with Glam Lash in Glasgow this year and loved it, you will have a great day  xxx

Thanks girls for the reply. I never thought about loosing count. I have a bad memory at the best of times . I had a look at your website Jennifer...very impressive, your lashes look lovely and i see what you mean now about the demi and full look. I will probably go along the lines that you have taken. Also i thought about the strip lashes to practice but wondered what id stick them to. Problem solved i'm going to borrow my nieces doll as i have 2 boys and action man and power rangers are to small.... The only thing about doing eyelash extensions is im assuming you can't do it on yourself to advertise so you have to pay the going rate to get someone else to do yours  bummer

Thanks very much, it is sometimes easier to take things in visually. I set my lashes out before I start, so I know how many lashes are there so that is how I keep count.
I haven't tried the doll yet, but will be giving it a try soon - i'll let you know how I get on :)

Some people can do it on themselves, but they are very experienced. I think it will be a long time before I try anything like that lol, I find it hard enough to do as it is :) You could try swapping with someone xxx

Hi Pauline,
I found that some places that advertised £1 per lash said they were offering single lashes but when I enquired further it was actually cluster lashes that were applying and not semi permanent lashes.
Some people also offer a free infill included in the price of there first set.
I trained with Glam Lash in November and charge £50 a set. I plan to charge more when I can get more lashes in.
At the moment I can only get about 45-50 lashes per eye which looks nice for a natural look but means I cant offer a more dramatic look until I gain more experience. But my clients seem to be happy.

Good luck on Saturday I am sure you will have a great day xx

I've just started doing lashes too. My pricing structure will be:
a set price for a full set and a set price for a demi-set.
For infills, i will charge by time. Some people will come back after 2 weeks with a few lashes that need doing and some people will come back after 3 weeks that need a lot more doing so if you have a set price for doing infills you could be doing almost a full set in some cases and charging the same as someone who only needs a few lashes replacing.
It's your time that is important so i think it makes sense to charge per 20 minutes or whatever :)
