Hi, ive just had my first booking for a princess party. I offer mini mani, mini pedi, nail art gems etc and mini facials. Is it ok to do mini facials on under 13s? I am sure i have seen others advertise it, but dont want to do anything that i may later find out is for a certain age only. Thankyou for any replies:D

Check with you insurance.

I havent done any yet but for people under 16 years old I have to let there parents to sign a disclaimer for there child to have the treatment also insuring they havent got any medical condition etc.

i personally wouldnt do the mini facials, childrens and teenage skin is often very sensitive and i wouldnt want to be the one blamed in the unlikely event of a reaction, i am just a little cautious really, you know that the first person to get blamed is the therapist lol x

I have checked with insurance and i have to get the parents to sign a consent form. I will be using the aime range for young skin, cleanser and moisturiser, and an organic chocolate facemask. The mini facial was more for a salon/spa experience than an actual skin care procedure. I am sure i have seen it offered for princess parties before, now i am not sure if i should continue to offer them or not:?: Its such a mine field!

I am very new to the industry and was thinking about doing something like this myself, can I just ask, would you give the organiser the consent forms to give to each of the girls parents before the date, or how else would you go about it??

Many thanks

Yvonne xxx

At the end of the consent form if you put, signed by parent/gaurdian, then the adult in charge would sign. The individual parents should know that their daughters are going to a princess party, but perhaps make this really clear when booking the party, so that the questions on allergies can be answered.
Oh and good luck with everything, im new to this also xx

I personally wouldnt do facials for under 13's due to the skin being very soft and delicate. But if your insurance only says to get parents consent then at least your covered but i would not want to cause a reaction and be blamed. It only takes one parent to start saying that her daughter had a reaction and word of mouth can make a bad reputation. Id just stick to the mini mani mini pedi add some nail art or face painting for younger ones. xx

, and an organic chocolate facemask.

Hi where are you getting your chocolate facemask from I've been hunting for one for ages

still looking for that chocolate face mask - found in lush 4.95 for 75g thought it was too small & a little expensive for kids parties - any other ideas on where i can get face masks good for kids parties

thankyou

I think you have to be CRB checked and i too dont think i would want to generally be putting products on very young skin on peoples children that i didnt know.

I post consent forms that double up as invitations out prior to party to the person making the booking to distribute to the guests and tell them to ensure that these are all available on the day of the party signed and noted with any contraindications etc. I list what is included in the party and the parent can request any treatment to be omitted for their child etc.

With regards to CRB checks, I looked into this some time ago and there are only certain bodies that can perform the check, it is not possible to get one done on yourself (or it wasn't a couple of years ago), I always insist that the person booking the party is present for the duration of the party

Hi I am looking into starting doing childrens nail parties. Would you be able to send me a copy of your parental consent form/invitations. I would be very grateful. Thank you
