I just started using Berins Ease which I was really excited about but I'm already disappointed! I really want to make it work so I want to know if there is something that I'm doing wrong.

I really like its creamy texture which let you spread it easy and the fact that it doesn't get cold is very helpful but in the same time there are other things that really put me off.

1- It doesn't get fine hair and leave them on the skin! in the same time it doesn't get coarse hair as well which takes a lot of time tweezing them. It's almost impossible to get underarm or bikini hair with this wax as well.
2- It absorbs into the strip and apart from making my hands sticky, I have to use lots of strips.
3- It leaves a lot of sticky bits on the skin.
4- It doesn't smell good.

I tried it with less heat and used it thicker as I thought I might have made it hot and runny and that's what causes all the above problems but nothing changed...
To be honest with its expensive price and all the good things I had read about it here, I didn't expect these problems.

Any idea if I'm doing something wrong??!

Hiya, Berins ease is not designed for use on underarms, facial or bikini. It is best for legs, which it generally does very well. It does leave some slight sticky bits here and there but use the berins jasmin oil after waxing and any residue easily melts away.

As for the smell/appearance, I think the idea is that it is a quality wax designed to do what it does, not look good and smell nice! This is how I explain it to my clients anyway! I have recently invested in Perron Rigot and this is similarly odourless/medicinal smelling.

I too do have some probs with berins ease not removing all the hairs on some clients though. I find pressing my spatula firmly onto the skin when applying helpsxx

I think because it goes on so easily and quickly, it can be easy to 'forget' to apply it properly.
You need to make sure that you are applying it with enough pressure.
Make sure your spatula is at a 90 degree angle when applying as this will make sure that you are not applying too much wax as well.
When I used Berins Ease I never had any issues with it not getting the hairs out.
Just make sure you are applying it properly. I'm not saying you aren't applying it properly though but I'm sure you know what I mean.

Thanks for your replies. I'm actually pressing the spatula quite hard to spread the wax thinly and evenly to use less wax and prevent it getting absorb into the strip. I think it will be painful for the client if I press harder especially on the knees because of the bones, but I will try next time with a little bit more pressure to see how it goes.

I also ordered Nacree Blanche to compare it with Berins Ease. Does anyone know if I can do speed waxing with it? Does it get cold quickly?

Ease is quite an oily wax and if it is absorbing into your strip Nila it sounds like you are using far too much wax.

You need to apply your wax very thinly with an even pressure and your spatula always at a 90 degree angle.

Your Ease needs to look the consistency of pancake batter.

Yes you can speed wax with the Nacree Blanc. The most popular in the PR range is the Cristal Ocean - a hypo-allergenic fluid wax. It uses synthetic rosin so is good for clients who are allergic to sticking plasters.

Where abouts are you? There is a Perron Rigot discovery day in Tamworth next Monday, and one in London next month. These are great days to try out the PR range and different waxes, and importantly are very cheap to attend.

It's funny but I changed to Berins ease months ago after having problems with other waxes and I absolutely love it - no issues whatsoever! I use Berins blue for bikini, underarm and facial waxing. I think a lot of it is finding what works for you personally but why don't you contact zozo on here - she is a distributor for Berins and she might be able to help you.:)

Have you watched some of Lori Nestore's speed waxing videos on YouTube?
Speed wax - should take you to her speed waxing legs video :) It will show you how thin it is applied :) I use Berins and have to say I've never had it seep through my strips and it definitely gets all the little hairs off on my clients :)

Yes I have watched Lori's speed waxing before and I did it again now. I use the same amount of was as she does in the video and believe me with more pressure, but the thing is she used 7 strips for a half leg! How many do you use? I usually do half leg with 3 or maximum 4 strips.

The only thing I noticed I do different is that I rub the strip more than her, and I do this to get the wax stick to hair and the strip properly so if the first pressure to apply the wax was not enough with rubbing on top of the strip the wax should stick completely to all the hair even the small fine ones but still have the problem. I think it's just the wax which is a kind of oily and the fact that it doesn't get cold and hard, it doesn't stick to some hair.

About the video, I know it's just a demonstration of speed waxing but I noticed the girl has no hair and Lori didn't even do the feet and toes and no tweezing afterwards! That's why she finished in 10 minutes!!!

Lori doesn't do tweezing full stop LOL

I have to say that I'm just not seeing the problems you're describing... I use it and I definitely get all the little hairs - I don't know how many strips I use though but I'm sure I use around the same/slightly more than her. I just don't like traipsing round with wax loaded strips. I can't say I've found the wax oily either - they don't seep through my strips - do you use paper strips or fabric?

I do think though that some waxes just suit some people better - if you're finding you don't get on with Ease it might be worth trying PR? It's horses for courses and I found Berins works really well for me, I tried Cristal when training with Andy and I do like that too in fairness. However I've not personally found anything that will beat the Berins Blue for intimate waxing yet - but again... not everyone are the same and I'm sure others get on better with other waxes :)

I use paper strip Tinxy.
As I said I ordered a tin of Nacree Blanche to try which was supposed to be here last Friday and still hasn't arrived. I'm really annoyed considering it was my first order from Beauty Express... I have worked with Cristal Ocean some years ago it was sticky, runny and all over the place! I remember all the staff were walking around the salon with their shoes making this noise: chip chip chip!
That's why I decided to try Nacree Blanche and see if it's different.

I also really like to try Berins Blue before I buy. People said you could buy a sample pack from Zoe but I can't see anything in the website.

If you drop her a note on here or on the website I'm sure she'd be able to point you in the right direction...
She's Zozo on here I think :)

I didn't find that Cristal was overly runny etc when I played with it... could it be that you might just work better with something like the roller systems? I know I didn't get along with them but loads of people swear by them :)

If you are having trouble with both PR and berins, two of the best waxes on the market I'd suggest contacting the distributors. Obviously you are well trained in the wax you come from, so no slight intended. Just that these two products are tried and proven. The Distributors will be more than happy to assist I'm sure - I've always had great service form berins. Both uk and us.

They are two of the best brands on the market. So it's a bummer you've experienced probs with both.

I recently decided to further/refresh my wax skills by attending a Kim Lawless speed waxing course.... and it was amazing! If it's speed waxing you plan to do, I would defo recommend her course. It's Kim's style of waxing and although I felt I knew how to wax, I lacked confidence and being there waxing with a waxing specialist was great. The advice, the tips and the guidance really helped me improve and see where I was going wrong as well realising the parts I was good at... as well as learning a really great style and technique of waxing.

I'm not saying you need training! But it defo helped me to continue to improve and to really try and nail 'speed waxing'. It's only been 2 or so weeks since the course, but I feel so much happier waxing and clients are commenting on the improvement.... also I'm getting faster! Speed waxer here I come!

All the best xx
