I am finding that whites and light pinks go on quite cloudy for me - it is as if I need to do 3 coats of colour! I have tried applying more varnish on the brush but then it just seems far too much. I use OPI and CND.

It's all in the 'touch' MrsR; not too much on the brush and a feather-light touch.

First coat is often streaky just because it should be done thin. The 2nd coat should be applied with the feather-light touch and should cover completely with a good polish such as you are using.

Another trick is to keep the brush as parallel to the nail as possible as you paint. Don't bend the bristles of the brush. Which causes you to drag polish off the surface.

So, think small amount of polish, parallel brush and a feather- light touch.

Thank you Geeg, as always you give the perfect advice.
