Product Qualified - Mani's & Pedi's

Hello All,

Am thinking of changing my products for manicures & pedicures, and wanted to know... If you are qualified in a treatmemt, do you then go on to do trainig with every different product you use, which ever it might be?

I am thinking along the lines of Hand Cream, massage cream, and exfoliators etc. I have used about 4 other companies, when I used to work for salons, so I know about different ways to use products and adapt to the treatment.

What do you all do? Surely, apart from looking at the ingrediants, a msaage cream will be the same as another one?

I'm pretty sure you can use whoever you choose, so long as you have the qual (which you do). I think it's only things like acrylic products that you have to do conversion courses for.

I'm sure this is the case but I expect someone will be along and tell you if it's not

You don't have to attend product training for mani & pedi products athough some brands do offer this and if the range that you choose has the course available then I would certainly attend it.

Most of the top ranges have there own routine which will be completley different to what you learnt at college. I have trained in Jessica & CreativeSpa treatments and they are a world away from college routine and both different to each other.

I will be doing the OPI mani/pedi training soon as its not only nice to know what your choosen ranges routine is but it is also product knowledge and at the end of the day every professional should want to know there products inside out.

More often than not the training will be free if you buy the mani/pedi kits so it would be silly not to attend.

One last thing is that I had forgotten how basic college pedicures were until I had a pedicure at a salon with my friend a few months ago, the therapist had been trained for a very long time and they just used basic wholesale products and it was the most boring treatment id ever had there were no little extras like the ranges above have and it made me appreciate just how important product training is.

I know what you mean... I am trained with Jessica and without the machine, and the polish underneath the nail, you cannot call it a Jessica manicure.

I want something similar to LCN but maybe slightly chepaer to reflect the prices I charge. I charge the same as the others in the area do, and as it is a small village, this has to be done.

Minimum orders are alsways a pain, as I do not have a massive space for storage and cannot make a massive order.

If you call SweetSquared they will send you a few samples of some of their spa products, I'm sure you will love them.

As for minimum order, you only have to buy their kits to get started and training will be free.

Take advantage of any training you can get, you will always learn something new and hopefully get a shot of inspiration and motivation
