Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations of products that help stop the bright colours fading so quick, or any miracle products that lock it in?

I have a couple of clients i use Affinage BRed colours on, and the refreshers fade pretty sharpish.

Thanks in advance :)

When i use to colour my hair red as my hair was so porous i use to have to use wella perfecton /5 and /44 every time i washed it only way to lock colour in its a pain some colours just dont stick !! X

Goldwell Elumen is a permanent colour that comes with a colour lock and you can get a range of bright fashion colours in it. It doesn't fade too quickly.
If using direct dyes, I usually apply them to dry hair rather than damp hair.

Surely, that's just going to make it worse? If it's very porous, the developer will ruin the cuticle layer and any colour molecules from permanent tints will wash straight out when you rinse it. You'd have been better off staining it with a good quality direct dye, if you really wanted it to last.

Huh ? Wella perfecton u add with water and apply on hair after washed and conditioned its not tint x

Put olaplex number 1 in with all my bright colours now wether their permanant or direct it does make them last longer but reds are always a bugger for fading, I usually retail crazy colour to mix in with conditioner once a week

Sorry, my mistake. I'm not a Wella user. I wrongly assumed it was a permanent tint. :)

Mentioned Above, Olaplex does help with color retention:) If you need help feel free to message me directly

Olaplex will help prevent fading.

Also co-condition I've seen/heard helps. Katie Siepierski used Biolage I think and after 8 months the colour was amazing. Without being refreshed apparently.

Ice cold water. Not washing every day. Avoid sulphates. Avoid heated appliances. Don't use permanent on the ends.

Actually, it is a tint, but it's a true semi.
