I had 5 girls have a spray tan after school yesterday for their prom tomorrow.
My nephew who goes to the same school has just come into my salon for his lunch and told me one of the girls is coming back after school today as her tan has gone orange and her arms are patchy :irked:
He said the other girls tans were absolutely fine. I don't know what to suggest to her when she comes in. Obviously i wont know how bad it is till she comes in but i feel awful cos it's her prom tomorrow. I've never had this happen before and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers.
If her arms are patchy i'm not sure whether to go over them again-will it make the orange look worse?
Any advice?

If all the other girls have turned out fine then surely she must not have follwed pre tan guide lines exfoliation no cream`s etc, so it is hardly your fault you are experienced in your work anyway, but I do get what you mean where you feel bad for her, would it not work if the patches are really noticable rub in a little barrier cream on the outer edge so when you re spray the patchy areas it will help to blend it without overspraying the ok area`s, or just buff up the surrounding area then lightly spray it and pat it in with your mit ? just my idea`s & what I would try if in the same position. Hope it goes well for you.

Don't panic....see what it looks like before you get to worried....if its orange then maybe to much % solution used...patchy well pre tan prep problem.

She still has a day or so before the prom and it might just calm down before that.

On the patchy arms and given her orange problem..either rub in some moisturiser with DHA only to the light parts or mist over with a lower % than you used on her.

By the way which solution do you use? was she one of these who insists on a darker solution than you would recommed for her skin type hence she has turned out orange due to overload ?

Panic over!
She has just come in on her lunch break and she is a lovely colour.
I will have words with my nephew later, panicking me like that!
She absolutely loves the colour and her arms aren't patchy at all.
The problem with her arm was i had completely missed one stripe on her arm-oops!
Did what glitz said and applied barrier cream on the tanned part of her arm and then sprayed over her white streak-worked a treat!
Can't believe i missed a complete stripe all the way down her arm-it wasn't small either
I have had a light go on the one side of my booth so must get that fixed!
You cannot believe how relieved i am!

Hi Hun,
The little Minx,
Get him back for this, bide your time.......it could be fun.
Lotsa luv x   x

Ooh naughty boy! lol. Glad it wasn't as bad as you had been led to believe. I make a point of double checking at the end as I seem to always forget one inner leg
