I bought some minx from ebay to have a try and would now like to find out how to go about purchasing the kits etc from a distributor. I am not a creative trained tech but hopefully this means I can still buy from Sweet Squared as I understand minx is not a creative product.

Ideally I would like to know prices beforehand to know which kit to buy but its seems impossible to get this info online unless you have an account?

Could anyone tell me this info?

You need to ring sweet squared and set up an account with them and they will give the costs,

Why not ring your own local distributor right there in Scotland? The Fingertips Centre also sell Minx, give instruction on how to use them and I'm sure will be happy to send you a product catalogue with prices on proof of qualification.

As for CND products you can also purchase most of those too if you have a certificate of qualification in nails ... the only CND products that are not sold without education are the L&P and Brisa Gels. So you are good to go.

Come to think of it, I'm sure you must know all this as I know you know Fiona who runs the Fingertips Ctr. and that you have been there. I seem to remember you asking about PopIts too and me recommending them. Slightly confused that you would not know they have Minx too.

Yes I was going to contact Fiona at fingertips next, I did know they did minx. I was just looking for an idea of prices online prior to calling.

Thanks for the info.

We do not allow prices to be posted here on salon geek so give them a quick call and I'm sure youwill have your answer instantly. Minx are not expensive and you get a very good return on your investment. Fifitrix does allot of Minx too and I'm sure can help you ... but no prices on the main forums please.

My first post here. Hope I'm doing it correctly!

The person selling Minx Nails on e-bay is not a distributor, is not part of the Minx Nails company, and we are taking action to stop them.

Sweet Squared is the UK distributer and offers traing as well, so they are the ones to go to. We have some other distributers outside of the US. We sell directly to licensed techs (only) here in the US.

Thanks to you ladies for pointing Nail Perfection toward Sweet Squared.

Nail Perfection, I'm sorry we have not been able to stop the e-bayer yet, but we are trying.

The prices I saw on e-bay were at a high mark-up, and applying Minx is a learned skill that requires a substantial investment of time and money.

Just to add, that Sweet Squared as well as all of their colleague distributors in the UK are all points of Minx distribution. including: The Fingertips Centre Scotland, Ellisons, Creative Nail Academy London, Creative Nail Academy Plus in Bournemouth and Manchester.

I was interested in adding minx to my treatments, so I went on the sweet squared site to find out prices but like you, I could not see any. I emailed them to find out more info and got a nice email bk saying they want proof I was qualified, but what qualifications they want was not stated and I would have to send them a copy. I am only trying to find out how much they cost and if it is worth investing in minx, think its a bit much to have to prove I am qualified just to have a price list on minx. fair enough if I decide to buy minx then yes I would be more than happy to prove I am qualified, but cant see the need to have to send my certificates in the post just for a price list.

I'm sorry that as a professional (?) you fail to see the need to prove it in order to obtain a professional price list of professional products that are sold only to professional NAIL technicians and manicurists.

I think all professionals would equally fail to see the reason why that concept would be so very difficult to grasp.

So if S2 were to send out price lists willy-nilly to all who asked for them, would you be happy if one of your clients produced it and questioned your prices? You know and I know that the cost of a treatment covers the product cost plus the time, skill and overheads of the Tech but I'm not prepared to justify it to clients who lack that understanding.

From S2's point of view you cold be any random member of the public - with out proof they have no idea what training you have received......

yeah fair play Yvetter thats true all sorted now.
