Hi everyone,
I think i am going to do a bio sculpture course and then an acrylic course at my local beauty suppliers. i was just wondering if once i have done the bio course am i able to use other gels or does that just qualify me to do theirs only? their site reads that even people that have qualified as a full tech (gel and acrylic etc) that they have to do their conversion course... it seems an added cost to me?

thanks.

Some companies want you to do their conversion course but the cost is actually the cost of the kit of products rather than the training if that makes sense.

Surely it is in your interest to train in whichever product you are using, this is the only way you will get the best out of it.

At the end of the day, not all gels are the same - Bio is a soak off I believe and this will be very different to a buff off gel.

Most distributors are willing to do a conversion with you free of charge, you just have to purchase the product. It is a really smart idea to take the conversion because each product applies and sets differently. As a distributor there is nothing more aggravating than having a client refuse the conversion, try the product, have issues with it and then blame the product.

I prefer to give new clients a chance to try the product for free before purchasing - then there is no commitment and and no risk to them.

Your qualification/certificate will probable state that you've gained the qualification using 'Bio Sculpture'. If this is the case you will only be insured for doing nails using Bio Sculpture gel.

Thankyou for all your advice everyone...

I really want to offer bio and wont be doing anyother gel nails as i will be doing an acrylic course so that i can offer them too, so i will do the bio s course then i will do a seperate acrylic course at a college so i can offer which ever brand of acyrlic i prefer. i will try lots of them and do their conversion.
The college that is doing the acrylic were suggesting i do their full course which is gel/acrylic and fibreglass and said i could buy the bio seperately as i would be qualified to do that... but i really dont think there is a market for any other gel or fibreglass in my area, it is acrylic and bio on natural nails that my market will be in.

thankyou for your replies. i agree products are different and i hadnt really thought of that so i will do the full bio s as i think i will understand the product better and give a more professional finish, then try out other brands of acrylic and see how i go!

Thanks everyone! :green:
