Hi Everyone,

I'm a home user of the gels, and I'm really lazy. :)

I was wondering if its okay to use regular nail polish and put a thin coat of clear gel over it to achieve the long lasting glossy look...sometimes i just dont have the time to do a full gel application!~

Is it going to make my nails yellow - especially if i do a dark color?

Thanks all for your professional opinions! :)

Unfortunately, any time I have tried putting a UV gel top coat over a natural nail or nail polish on the natural, It ends up peeling and sort of 'bunching' up and cracking. I'm not sure if all Uv Gel top coat's do this but I've read that because the top coat is meant to be used on an enhancement (really inflexible surface) when you put it on a natural nail that is naturally very flexible, it cracks. It might last for a very short period but always sseems to start breaking down. At the very least make sure you are sealing the edges because it usually will really shrink up if you don't. I've found a plain old (good quality) top coat will last longer. Hope this is helpful :) maybe someone else has used a UV top coat that works better for this, I've tried several and they've never worked
