I have the slightest bit of onycholysis on my ring finger. It’s very very slight (almost not even noticeable but I notice it). I believe it’s from either over filing or from cleaning under my nail with an orange wood stick. My question is, can I put regular nail polish on until it grows out? Or is it recommended to have no nail polish on it at all?

Yes you can put polish on it

The best advice is to keep the nail
short, so that the nail reattaches to the nail bed. Apply your oil at least twice per day and also apply under the free edge. You can still apply polish or Gel. It'll be fine in a couple of weeks as it doesn't sound bad at all.

Thank you both!
