I've been practicing really hard on my sculpting and eventually, when I perfect it - I'd like to offer it to my clients - but for those of you who do sculpt - do you charge a different price from using tips?

This is just me, but I prefer to sculpt and do find it more time consuming, but I like the end result better.

I don't charge extra for sculpting but for sure see it as and advantage for you. If I had not already priced myself this way I would charge extra money for sculpting.

I am a tech in a small town so feel a little like I have to compete with some of the city salons (20 minutes away). They don't charge this way...so that is how it is done where I am at.

I would also ask around in your area, or get some of the friends to check out other salons to see what they do.

I would work out the cost by having an hourly rate, plus the products used, then increase it by a % for profit.

So, using tips would incur the extra charge for the extra materials used, but the sculpted nails will incur extra charge for the extra time it takes.
So the sculpted nails should come out costing more.

Im only just starting to work from home, so will begin working this stuff out as I go, and I plan to open a nail salon, so will hopefully have it all worked out for that.

I agree about working your costs out by time, costs and profit margin.

Remember though that the more you sculpt the faster you will get and in the end you will work faster than when using tips.

Although these days if you use well-less tips, time is pretty equal. The time it takes to apply your sculpting forms and the time it takes to apply well-less tips is pretty much the same.
