Ummmm this is going to be a doozy but I'll try.

I'm working on improving the ratio of my mixes, I pay attention to the aspect of the brush, if it looks wet enough with monomer but when I "draw" a line across the powder the bead is still too wet, I re-dip it in powder and now its too dry. Is there a method of recognising the right consistency.

Another question also, does the quality and shape of the brush helps?

Thank you

Kat

Yes, the size of the brush will matter, the bigger the brush, the more liquid it will 'hold'.
I don't know what products you are using, but if it is Creative, the rule of thumb for mixed ratio is to check 3 things....the look, the feel, the colour................................

bead should look 'dimpled' - like orange skin or cellulite - ha!ha!

colour should be 'opaque' - not too glassy (wet) or white (dry)

feel should be 'soft' - not runny (wet) or stiff (dry)

Hope this helps a bit. Fiona
